Wild Laurel Golf Club
This isn’t just an 18-hole, par 70 golf course. This environmentally responsible venue holds a wonderful full-bar and cafe tavern where you can have a delectable meal any time of day. The club is also a nature preserve, and wildlife sanctuary. Make sure to stop here at least once during your stay!
Cades Cove
Are you an animal lover? Cades Cove offers some of the best wildlife encounters in the Smokies. Easily accessible, this 10+ mile road provides a close-up viewing of the natural habitat encompassing the mountains. Black bears, deer, coyotes, and more are commonly found grazing through this area. Be safe, and enjoy seeing these beautiful creatures from the comfort of your vehicle!
Townsend Biking Trail
Bring the rack. The Townsend biking trail is nearly 5 miles long and offers a calm, enjoyable ride through town. Take a break and rest at one of the many eateries and stores populating the trail, or cruise through the woods and rush by the local Little River to get your fill of exercise before returning to Laurel Valley for a drink!
Townsend Horseback Riding
Another one for the animal lovers- horseback riding. Personally connect to the natural environment of the mountains with your very own steed. As the scenery flashes by, the freedom you’ll experience is like none other. There are a few different options to weigh, depending on a variety of factors, including experience. Once you’ve had the time of your life, our suites’ spa baths will give you much needed respite.
Next to Heaven Zip Lining
The classic thrill; Zip Lining. You can’t leave the Smokies without experiencing the closest thing to flying. Glide through the forest canopy with friends and family in a number of areas. These are stops you could easily combine with any of the aforementioned activities. Next-to-Heaven Mountain Adventures combines Zip Lining and Horseback Riding for the true Smokies thrill enthusiast!
